WESTECH is recognized as a world leader in engineering and manufacturing of off highway, mining truck bodies and is based in Casper, Wyoming. WESTECH was founded in 1938 in Wyoming as WOTCO to service the oil drilling industry. In 1969, the company moved into the design and manufacturing of truck bodies for the mining industry. WESTECH truck bodies fit all the major original equipment manufacturers (OEM's). WESTECH is known for its innovative designs that are custom engineered to a customers specific needs. Product offerings include the gate-free coal body, over burden bodies, combo bodies, and specialty bodies such as waste management. WESTECH is also the creator of the Flow Control Body® (Patent Pending), which is WESTECH's latest body design to be introduced to the mining industry.
The WESTECH facility employs more than 200 employees, with more than 165,000 square feet of manufacturing space. WESTECH not only designs and manu-
factures truck bodies, but also does the same for truck mounted water tanks, cable handlers, live cable reels, tire handlers, and also offers front end loader buckets.
In 2007, WESTECH became a member of the Austin Engineering, Ltd, group. Austin Engineering, Ltd is an Australian based company with manufacturing facilities in Australia, Indonesia, and South America. Most of the engineering and designs for mining truck haul bodies are developed for all Austin Engineering locations worldwide in the Casper, Wyoming facility. Worldwide production will be in excess of 500 bodies this year.
